Hamilton had been producing aviation pieces for more than a decade now, where many of their Khaki models heavily influenced by the robustness and no-frills time-reading legibility aesthetics. Today we are proud to introduce the Khaki Aviation Pilot Day Date Auto – Air – Glaciers Edt. - Ref. H64655941. A value proposition by Hamilton with a Type B pilot style dial deriving from historical models with a cool unique blue tone.
The Khaki Aviation Pilot is a tribute to aviation military pedigree, precisely like those Type-B face and spec watch produced specifically for use by navigators during the 40s and 50s, while coincidently their field watch dates back even earlier during World War 2 in the 1940s. This particular version sets forth where the design of a perfect combination of a vintage piece with modern technology. Measuring wittily at 42mm wide and 12.1mm in height, the brushed finished is highlighted by polished edges throughout the stainless steel case mimics the typical sporty yet with beautiful contrast. Further, at 42mm, the Khaki Aviation Day Date Auto 100m water-resistant and wears exceptionally well and versatile from most of our wrists, both for men and women.
Ok, we are not done with the case built. Further, the case features a slightly domed sapphire crystal accentuating above the thick brushed bezel. Paired on the opposite side with a screw-in exhibition case back in the form of a window with essentials specifications engraved onto it. Uniquely displaying the "Air Glaciers Special Edition" on the back to highlight this special edition. The flanged crown has knurling on it, done with the right size for one to wind the watch up with ease.
Moving onto its blue Type B pilot-spec dial, it is done and conformed to look like the German Beobachtungs-Uhren (observation watch)- the inclusion of the iconic double-digit Arabic numerals, vintage caramel luminous markers with additional white hour makers in the inner-sector, and bold sword-shaped hands. With all these aspects, Hamilton has kept them in a way, while let us described it like how Eminem rhymes his selective words with his instrumental bars- uncluttered, vintage, utilitarian, soldier-ly, and versatile. The dial took the ode-to-the-past aesthetic, like, for instance, the vintage Type- B that only bears the "Hamilton" and "Khaki Automatic" titles on the dial. There is both day and date display done nicely at the 3o'clock, resulting in the legibility of the field watch while keeping things balanced symmetrically. Strapping the Khaki Pilot Day Date Auto to the wrist, one can conclude the built for function above all things and built to last like during wartime, while most of us believed only to do from desk-diving to cafe hopping to be our daily activities.
The Khaki Aviation Pilot is powered by its automatic caliber H-30, this timepiece contains a massive power reserve of 80 hours -also due to a reduced 3Hz frequency and updated kinetic chain. Thus, this watch is superior in movement vis-a-vis other watches powered by Japanese movements. Additionally, this watch is bedecked with an anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring.
Hamilton paired the Khaki Aviation Pilot with a 20mm matching blue nylon strap with air glaciers featured at the 6, that goes oh so well with the pilot-watch dial, making it ever-ready to take flight.
The Khaki Aviation Pilot Day Date Auto – Air – Glaciers Edt. - Ref. H64655941 is a captivating reissue in terms of its back-to-those-days pilot aesthetics and dimensions with much cool flair. It looks are so period-correct that this particular model feels like a throwback of their military khaki lineup with the practicality of both automatic winding and calendar display. Anyone looking for a sporty evergreen pilot-watch vibe with its impeccable build quality and upgraded movement, for the money, Hamilton made the Swiss-made Khaki Field Pilot Auto unrivalled in its price segment and attractive for all tiers of watch-lovers.
